Village to heal
In the ‘West’, we often talk about how Plant Medicine integration revolves around restoring the sense of community and connection that we’ve lost in our individualistic ‘modern’ capitalist society.
Genuine togetherness
After being introduced to several Plant Medicine communities over the years and with my professional background as both a Counsellor and an Anthropologist, I observed how we in the West often lead isolated lives, lacking the genuine ‘togetherness’ that defines traditional communities.
A safe container where there is attention for your experiences, emotions, existential doubts, and worries coming out of an altered state of consciousness.
A trusted space where you feel welcomed, validated and seen.
A Village to Heal
Something that is embedded in the original fabric of the many Indigenous communities around the world and the traditional wisdom keepers that are working closely together with Plant Medicine like Ayahuasca.
How it takes ‘a village to heal’.
I notice how many people in the West are walking around in the dark, feeling isolated in their ‘life after ceremony’ and if this is you, I would like to give you this tip: Reaching out is often key to finding a new direction and answers.
Asking for Help
Or, in the words of a new client:
‘I had no integration support or guidance after my ceremony and these past months were very challenging: The hardest 6 months in my life. By contacting you, I decided to stop walking in circles and feeling stuck on a (metaphorical) island’.
Something I hear a lot is that reaching out for support feels ‘vulnerable’ or ‘uncomfortable’ and ‘you should be able to do this on your own, right?’
Asking for help is something that also tends to get lost in our Western society: It is hard and we rather don’t. Even if we instinctively feel that this is what we want and need.
Another Way
But, there is another way.
From ‘isolated’ to ‘connected’ and from ‘vulnerability’ to ‘empowerment’.
Moving yourself from an island to a village instead.
All of this starts with a first step: reaching out…
You are welcome to knock on my door if you feel that this could be you.
